The PTA warmly welcomes all new and returning families back to school. We have good things in store for the 2019-2020 school year. See below for upcoming events and dates.
Important!!! We are now using an online membership platform for our three parent group memberships (PTA, Dads’ Club and KEF). Totem is an online membership tool newly adopted by the National PTA. You will be directed to it during your Jumpstart process after updating all your emergency information. You can also access it here directly. https://jointotem.com/
August 16th – Reveal Day! Classroom assignments will be posted at 4pm on the patio side of the MPR. Come reconnect with school friends and families. We will have our new spirit wear available for sale as well as representatives from the PTA to answer questions, help you sign up to join our three parent groups, Dad’s Club, KEF and the PTA. Volunteer sign-ups for enrichment classes and other classroom volunteers will be posted as well.
August 24th – Dads’ Club and PTA Clean-Up Work party. Volunteers will be at the school beginning at 9am through the late afternoon. Join us for any time frame that works for you. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Come help spruce up the grounds for the fall!
August 29th – PTA & Dads’ Club General Meeting and BBQ Our first meeting of the year for PTA and Dads’ Club. Bring your kids, enjoy hot dogs, salad and ice cream on the MPR patio. This will be our second annual joint BBQ. Please come reconnect with the community and learn more about these parent-run organizations. BBQ starts at 6pm. Mrs. Sanders will do a Q&A session for our PTA meeting portion of the night beginning at 7pm. Babysitting will be provided beginning at 7pm.
September 26th – Save the Date! We are in the process of confirming the first of a three part speaker series hosted by the PTA. We will join with the Madera community to hear from Becki Cohn-Vargas, an educator, author and previous director of “Not in Our Town”, a bullying prevention project of The Working Group. She will present “A Community Conversation about Diversity and Race: Creating Safe Spaces in our School and Community”. The location will be at Kensington School MPR. PTA business at 6:30pm and our speaker at 7pm. Babysitting will be provided. Please RSVP.
