Parent Teacher Association (PTA) plays two prominent roles in your child’s educational experience:
- The PTA is the voice of every child on a local, state and national level. PTA advocacy shapes the educational system as a whole.
- Second, PTA volunteers shape how each school community feels and functions on a daily, monthly, and annual basis. The PTA is the main service group at Kensington Hilltop, staffing many school support activities such as Room Parents, Emergency Preparedness, Library, teacher appreciation events, assemblies, Movie Night, Carnival, hospitality, orientating new families, and more. The PTA co-sponsors events and ongoing classes with the other parent groups to further our goal of a quality education and nurturing environment for every child.
The PTA meets every other month on the first Thursday of the month at 7:00pm (unless otherwise posted), for a total of 5 Association Meetings per school year.

You do not need to be a member of the PTA to attend meetings or events. However, we strongly encourage all families to join if they are able. When you become a member for $30 per year, you are not only supporting activities at Kensington Hilltop, you are also joining the California State PTA and the National PTA. Your voice adds volume to 5 million others nationwide in the urgent call for action on child, education, community and family wellbeing policies. We are one million strong in California and our voice carries weight and is heard by our state and federal legislators.
More info on the national PTA is here.
