Upper Grade Fundraising

Upper grade Hilltop students further their education on overnight field trips:  6th grade goes to Caritas Environmental Camp, 5th grade to Pigeon Point, and 4th grade to the Gold Country.  Parents pay for most of the cost of their child’s participation in these field trips; however, some of the costs are defrayed through KEF’s upper grade fundraising.  A small portion of upper grade fundraising  also provides funds for a winter sixth grade dance, as well as the promotion ceremony and dinner/dance in June.  The sixth grade classes drive these fundraising efforts, but the fifth and fourth grade classes are expected to participate.

Pizza on Wednesdays

Each Wednesday on the patio near the multi-purpose room, parent volunteers sell slices from Albany Pizza, Annie’s snacks, healthy drinks and water to Hilltop students.  Profits go to KEF’s Upper Grade fund.  If you would like to volunteer, please contact sixth grade parent Karen Thompson.

Golden Gate Fields

In exchange for the time and talent of our parent volunteers, Golden Gate Fields makes a donation of $1,000 to KEF’s Upper Grade Fund for each Dollar Day worked (Dollar Days are always on Sundays).  At least ten parents hand out beer, hot dogs and sodas to Golden Gate Fields customers during the races.  If you are interested in volunteering at Golden Gate Fields, please contact sixth grade parent Karen Thompson.

Cookie Dough Sales

Sixth grade students sell cookie dough,  brownies, and cheesecakes to family and friends.  40% of the sales are donated to KEF’s Upper Grade Fund. Contact sixth grade parent Karen Thompson if you want to satisfy your sweet tooth!

Place your order for yearbooks in the spring, stay tuned to the Thursday Packet for details!

Each year, parent volunteers, led by sixth grade parents, produce a Kensington Hilltop yearbook filled with photos of students, faculty and staff, and the many classroom and school activities experienced throughout the year.
