PTA Needs Assessment Survey

PTA Needs Assessment
Survey: the Results (preview only, for the full results please click on the link below).

Thanks so much to those who participated in our September
survey, all 142 of you!

Your responses will make your PTA more responsive!

These four issues consistently rated high, in this order:

1. Adequate funding

2. Supporting
academic success

3. Parent / teacher
communication

4. Safety and
security

Followed by:

5. Healthy food
choices

6. Involvement
opportunities

7. Lunch time
activities

8. Parent interaction
opportunities

9. Resources on
parenting

“Other” issues mentioned by more than one respondent:

- Bullying / conflict resolution

- PE / sports

- Foreign language education

- In-class teachers’ aides

- Environment / “greener” school

Respondents were overwhelmingly very satisfied with how PTA
serves Hilltop, with only 35 “somewhat satisfied.” A few of the “somewhat
satisfied” offered comments relating to inclusion (“PTA is a closed group...”)
and academics (“not enough impact...”).
Only 2 respondents were “somewhat dissatisfied” or “very dissatisfied” (no
comment offered).

A few indicated they would not join PTA due to lack of
time. Reminder: PTA is a parent organization that serves children. Dues alone constitute participation in
your child’s well-being at school, so PLEASE JOIN! The organization is WIDE OPEN to anyone who has a stake and wants to make a difference
in our schools, so please get in touch with strategies for implementing your
great ideas! pgilbertsnyder@mac.com.

Thanks again!
