The PTA and Dads' Club would like to invite you to the 71st annual Spring Carnival on Saturday, May 12th from 11am-3pm! This is a fun-filled day for Hilltop kids, their families and neighbors. Come out and enjoy carnival games and prizes, great food, yummy treats, and bargains for the whole family!

Spring Carnival and Raffle proceeds are used to fund PTA and Dads' Club projects such as work party supplies, earthquake readiness supplies, recreation equipment for the kids such as balls and hula-hoops, school assemblies, Art Night and Movie Night. Come and show your support for Kensington Hilltop and help fund our school community!

CARNIVAL OVERVIEW

We'll have games and activities for all ages! Have fun with favorites such as Water Balloon Catapult, Winner Winner Chicken Dinner, Alligator Outhouse, Pick My Nose, Cheese Toss, Sleeping Pirate, and Cake Walk. Also returning this year are Toilet Toss, Plinko, Crazy Birds, and the not-to-be missed, Minute–to-Win-It booth! Want even more excitement? Try our Plasma Car racecourse!

Rest a bit with sit-down activities including face painting, and hair feathers.

Feeling hungry after playing all those games? Enjoy a delicious lunch made by Dads' Club's grill, as well as yummy carnival treats such as popcorn, sno cones, root beer floats, and cotton candy!

Also back again this year is our Bake Sale in the MPR. Indulge that sweet tooth with cookies, cupcakes, brownies and more!

Bargains hunters, look no further than Hilltop's White Elephant sale! It's like hitting 100 garage sales all in one place! This year we're offering an Early Bird Presale--a $20 donation gets you in at 10:30! Also, be sure to come early for great bikes at Deals on Wheels.

The 7th annual Rhea Wilson Plant Sale will be bigger and better than ever! Inspired by the timeless classic, Mary Hodgson Burnett's Secret Garden, the sale will have fresh blooms - you can even pot some yourself! - succulent arrangements, and fresh seedling starts. All plants can be embellished with literature-inspired figurines to further enhance the garden magic! "...and the secret garden bloomed and bloomed and every morning revealed new miracles..."

Bring your friends, neighbors, grandparents, and cousins to a fantastic day of fun! We'll see you there!

VOLUNTEER SIGN UPS

The Spring Carnival is planned and staffed by parent volunteers, and we could sure use your help! Friday before Carnival, we need your help prepping for the White Elephant sale, or baking up a storm for the Bake Sale. On Carnival day, parents take turns supervising booths and handing out prize tickets. It's a really fun way to spend time with the kids and other parents. Each classroom is assigned to staff one or more booths. Help set up the White Elephant Sale or make goodies for the Bake Sale on Friday, May 11th, or Sign up for your classroom's assigned booth, or help the Dads' Club with set up and/or tear down, show off your skills at the Dads' Club grill!

CARNIVAL TICKETS

Don't waste time standing in line for tickets! Pre-order game cards and food tickets online with any major credit card. Your ticket order will be sent home with your designated child the day before the Carnival.

RAFFLE

This is the 36th annual Carnival Raffle! Show your support for PTA & Dads' Club by selling and buying your raffle tickets! Drawings will take place on Saturday, May 12th during the Spring Carnival. Tickets are $5 each, sold individually or in packs of 5.

Each Hilltop student will receive $25 worth of raffle tickets to sell. Our goal is for every student to sell all the tickets… and with your support and this year's prizes, it should be easy! As an incentive to students, the top three sellers get prizes of their own!

  • Top Seller receives $100
  • Second Top Seller receives $75
  • Third Top Seller receives $50

  • No computers, electronics, or large furniture

Drop off donations:

  • Drop off at the MPR between 8:30-6:00pm on Friday, May 11th.
  • Like to organize? Come help us receive, sort and tag all the donated items, even if for an hour or two.

PLANT SALE

This year's theme for the plant sale is the "Secret Garden" - Mary Hodgson Burnett's timeless reminder of the profound impact that gardening and discovery can have on the lives of young people: Come stop by and see the fresh seedling starts, as well as sweet succulent arrangements and other delightful items for sale! Spring is in the air with fresh blooms all around, and this year we will have opportunities for DIY at the table: Pot a lovely springtime mix of blooms for mom's special day, or create a sweet scene as you put finishing touches on a succulent or plant arrangement with figurines inspired by literature - sweet birds, butterflies, bunnies and more! All proceeds benefit KHS students, so come take a look and have some fun at our table! Garden-themed books will be available for inspiration as well!
