Neighborhood Before & After School Program
We provide nurturing and caring Before and After School programs Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. Our classes are limited in size, allowing for our staff to meet every child’s individual needs. Classes are supervised by a teacher and an aide, with additional staff members added to maintain the child teacher ratio. A child to teacher ratio of 10 to 1 for early morning and K through 2nd grades and a ratio of 14 to 1 for grades 3rd through 6th. We offer a variety of activities for students to choose from including sports and games, arts and crafts, quiet reading time or playing board games. The opportunity to complete homework is provided in the afternoon. Our staff members are always available to assist students with their homework.
Our doors open at 7:30 am for early morning drop off. Kindergartners are escorted to their classroom at 8:15 a.m. 1st through 6th graders are led to line up prior to the 8:30 a.m. bell.
Our After School program begins at the end of your child’s school day, whether he or she is in kindergarten (11:35 a.m dismissal), grades 1 through 3 (2:20 pm dismissal) or 4 through 6th (2:40 pm dismissal). Students are picked up from each classroom by one of our Teachers or Aides, and escorted to the Neighborhood facilities. This also applies to minimum days.
Kindergartners can stay for ‘Lunch Bunch’ which dismisses at 2:00 pm or they may stay for a dismissal time of 5 or 6 pm which is the same as for the older students. For the 1st through 6th grade students the dismissal times are 5 pm or 6 pm. The two times are to meet individual family needs for care. The students who are paying until 5 pm can be picked up any time until 5 pm but not after 5 pm and the same holds true for the 6 pm students. They may be picked up any time until 6 pm but not after 6 pm.
Students will be escorted to and from Kensington after School Enrichment Program (KASEP) upon request by the parent.
