Csilla Fenczik, Instructional Specialist

Csilla started teaching PE at Kensington Hilltop School in 2008.  Both her sons attended Hilltop before moving on to middle and high schools.  More recently, Csilla managed and coached youth baseball in ECYB and coached soccer in El Cerrito.

Csilla enjoys seeing a student overcome an obstacle; whether it is a specific skill in the sport being played, learning how to be a good sport, interacting successfully with peers, or pushing towards a goal that once seemed unachievable.

In the fall of 2008, a weekly physical education program was launched at Hilltop to assist the classroom teachers in meeting California state physical education standards, while building a love of fitness in the kids.  This supplemental physical education program utilizes the SPARK (Sports, Play & Active Recreation for Kids) PE curriculum which incorporates the state standards.

Parents are encouraged to sign up to volunteer in PE, particularly in the younger grades.  Some parent volunteers have experience with coaching, but this is not a requirement.  Sign-up sheets are available at the start of the school year; Csilla can also be contacted directly if you are interested in volunteering at any time during the year.
