Computer Lab

Cathy Travlos, Computer Lab Instructional Specialist

Cathy Travlos received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in geography.  Cathy began volunteering at Kensington Hilltop School when her daughter was in kindergarten.  This volunteer time grew into teaching regular computer classes that meets common core curriculum requirements to all students. Cathy also coordinates the maintenance of all network and computer equipment with parent volunteers and school district personnel.

The computer lab has individual computer work stations for each of the students in a class.  A projector is attached to a computer so that Cathy can demonstrate the subject for the students.  After a demonstration, each student works independently on his or her computer and Cathy interacts with each of them as they work on their assignments.

Parents are encouraged to sign up to volunteer in computer lab – either to assist the students in the computer lab or to provide technical support.  Sign-up sheets are available at the start of the school year; Cathy can also be contacted directly if you are interested in volunteering at any time during the year.
