Principal’s message May 21, 2020

As the year winds down, there are some reminders and some information I would like to share
with you:
– All District Chromebooks can remain at home with your child over the summer. Any
textbooks can also stay at home with the exception of 6 th grade texts; 6 th grade families
will receive more information about how to return books before school is out.
– Information will be shared within the next week regarding a schedule to pick up any
personal items still at school.
– If your child has medication at school, please contact Pam ( pporter@wccusd.net ) to make
arrangements to pick it up. Medication should not be left at school over the summer.
– Be sure to let us know as soon as possible if your plans change for next year. You can
email Pam ( pporter@wccusd.net ) or me ( jsanders@wccusd.net ). We have a waiting list
at a couple of grade levels, and we would like to be able to let families know if spaces
open up.
– Report cards will be emailed home when school ends on June 5. Please let your child’s
teacher or me know if you do not receive your child’s report card.
– As soon as information is available about plans for opening school in August, I will be in
touch with all families. At this point no decisions have been made about whether we will
return to school in person, continue with distance learning, or possibly a hybrid of the
two.
– Within the next few days, a survey will be sent out to gather information about your
family’s experiences with distance learning. In addition, a survey is being sent by KEF to
get information about the enrichment classes (art, music, PE, science, etc.). Please give us
your feedback on both surveys so we can do our best to support your children and your
family.
