As we head off for our long-anticipated break, I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you all a happy holiday season and a healthy and joyous 2019!
When we return to school in January we will start the new year off with grade-level assemblies during which we will review behavioral and academic expectations that will keep us focused for the remainder of the year. In that spirit, I ask you to remember the following:
- Please label your children’s clothing. We have a very hard time returning jackets, sweatshirts, and sweaters to their owners when they don’t have names in them.
- Please use our school website: kensingtonhilltop.org when looking for pertinent and timely information you might need. We are trying very hard to keep it updated and make it a useful place for families and members of our community.
- Please do your best to make sure that your child arrives at school on time every day. Entering the classroom after instruction has started is very difficult for both the child who is late as well as the other children in the class.
I hope you will join me on Thursday, January 9 for our annual Parent Education event. This year we have the pleasure of welcoming Jo Boaler, a renowned Stanford professor and mathematics educator. She will be speaking to us along with parents and teachers from the El Cerrito family of schools at the ECHS Theater. Please see the attached flyer for more information. I look forward to seeing you there!
